The AG Corps Force Development Update Essay Example for Free

The AG Corps Force Development Update Essay The US Army will undergo massive transformation in terms of modular structure of the war battalion units and the brigade; the Army transformation involves radical augmentation from its Cold War Division (15,000 soldiers) to the Brigade Combat Teams ( 4,000) soldiers and modular multifunctional Support Brigades and sectioning of the fixed headquarters to head Corps/Division and supporting Theater. Such changes will ensure continuity and adherence to the tenets of versatility, flexibility and scalability across the Army as adaptive tactics to the changes in military strategic environment correlated to the current Global War on terrorism, insurgencies in Iraq and adjustment on human resource department (Gallasie, 2008). The introduction of a new tactical transformation in the HR divisiona sophisticated and advance Brigade and Battalion sectionprovides an efficient operations and manning system under Army HRC. In a holistic view, the former organizationsPERSCOM, Personnel Services Battalion and Personnel Detachmentswill be restructured to new unitsthe Human Resource Support Center (HRSC), the Reception, Replacement, Return to Duty, Rest and Recuperation and Redeployment (R5) Team, Platoon and Company Plans and Operations Team, the Casualty Platoon, the Postal Platoon and the Company Plans and Operations Team, the Human Resource (HR) Company Headquarters, the Theater Opening R5 Team, the Military Mail Terminal (MMT) Team, and the discrete BCT/BDE and BN S1 sections (Gallasie 2008). Joint forces between Active Units S1 Section and Army HRC, mandated by Personnel Services Delivery Redesign (PSDR), will organize the existing manning system and personnel management which will include the following plan of action: (1) document the entire S1 section into a single discrete paragraph within all Brigade, HHC MTOE, and recoding Battalion S1 positions as 42-B; (2) new organization previously mentioned above will perform Theater level HR support to the modular Forces; and (3) implementation in the four phases will commenced at the end of FY08 (Gallasie, 2008). The HRSC supports the theater with HR support as directed by the theater and provides oversight of all casualties reporting within the theater of operations and provides technical support to the Postal, R5 and Casualty units as well as providing personnel guidance to G1s and S1s as needed. When requested by the theater commander based on METTTC requirements, the HRSC may deploy to the theater of operations depending upon the population supported. The HRSC support postal, R5, and personnel information flow but does play a direct role in the execution of functions unless otherwise directed by the theater G1. The Casualty Operation Division performs the theater casualty reporting mission, collecting all the casualty reports for the theater and sending to HRC. The HRSC receives technical guidance from HRC and operating guidance from the theater G1. The HRSC is designed with two deployable teams in each division so that the teams representing each function are available to augment other theater-level staff (Gallasie, 2008). The sophistication of the Modular Joint Expeditionary Army provides organization, manning system, equipment, and training to the former battalion organization of the US Army. It is noted that Human Resources Redesign did not actually allocate it’s system of command and troops but rather it arranged it in a manner that it encourages specificity in terms of duties and military work within each newly formed military units. Additionally, military hierarchy was more pronounced which lends continuity to the entire military force. According to Gallasie (2008) such ‘transformation’ will make the US Army ‘more strategically responsive, deployable, agile, versatile, lethal, survivable, and sustainable across the full spectrum of military operations’. He also added that the modularity will provide capabilities to the BCD/BDE Commanders to execute essential personnel services and strength management with organic assets while redesigning and improving theater-level support for postal, R5 and casualty support to the Modular Forces. The structure of the latter create an efficient network connectivity for the tailoring of minimal force structure which will have its advantages in terms of geographic dispersion of combat power along different points of terrorist zones. The concept of the Modular Forces is clearit aims to establish visibility and connectivity between its commands and the component troops. Pilot testing at Fort Campbell revealed some of the several ‘shortfalls’ to the changesadditional workload for the civilians, joint and multinational forces, emergency leave, RR return to duty, reception and other associated problems on replacement, accounting and integration (in AG Corps FDU 05-2 Human Resource Transformation Concept Paper). As Gallasie points out in the article The AG Force Development Update, the personnel transformation is not for changed alone but is a regiment adaptation to the concurrent needs of reducing terrorist acts. While it is true that such sophistication may provide for a more efficient and visible manning system especially during deployment in different geographical locations in terrorism hotspots, a bigger question that we had to acknowledge is how the US Army will deliver the radical changes to the military troops and the time and cost efficiency involve in the HR changes. Will the AG Force Development sustain its objective or will the change give a ruckus to the army administration which will aggravate the problem? Note that terrorism is an ongoing problem and such resolution in the midst of crisis can create potential confusion to the overall administration and likewise its components. This is not to say that the new concept on Personnel transformation is a bad idea. Moreover, the timing for the execution of the concept and its’ immediacy may not be fitting for the current global crisis. Before execution there should be a review on the personnel impact and how the military administration address the problems and the pitfalls associated with such changes. Additionally, there should also be a review on the military technologies and the weaponry involved if such transformation where to take place. Also, ‘support’ extended should be analyzed not only on the basis of HRSC support but other issues as well such as pay and just compensation for services rendered and compensatory damages in case of accidents. Other important points to consider is how the regiment addresses the health and psychological problems associated during deployment to terrorist hotspots. The AG Corps Force Development is far from perfect but given the right adjustment and resolving the loopholes it may provide for a good change in the US Army. Reference Gallasie, D. Strategies to Develop Health Literacy

Strategies to Develop Health Literacy Table of Contents 1. Introduction about health literacy 2. Relation between primary healthcare and health literacy 3. Health literacy related to elders 4. Health literacy related to diabetes specifically in elders 5. Conclusion 6. References 1. Introduction about health literacy Many citizens have problem in understanding the information about issues related to health. About 9 /10 persons have some problems with awareness related to health. Health literacy is the aptitude to acquire the health information anyone require and to be aware of it. It is also relating to the information to generate good decisions about his physical condition and medical care. Low health literacy can destruct your fitness. On a daily basis, people tackle situations that involve life-changing decisions about their health. These conclusions are ended in places such as grocery and medication supplies, workplaces, playgrounds, doctors place of works, and hospitals (Safeer Keenan, 2005). Obtaining, communicating, dispensation, and understanding healthiness information and services are necessary steps in making suitable health decisions; however, many research activities indicates that nowadays health information is presented in modes that are not exploitable by most grown persons. Inad equate health literacy happens when people cant locate and utilize the health information and examinations they require. As the idea of health literacy has developed, there has been heterogeneity in its meaning and its understanding regarding how it communicates to health. More freshly, there has been superior emphasis on the viewpoint that health literacy stand for not only the expertise required by an person to route health based information, but also the claims of the health scheme in terms of the deliverance of instructions (St Leger, 2001). Pathetic health literacy competencies resulted in less healthy options, riskier behavior, poor health, with a reduction of self-management and further hospitalization. They considerably drain human plus financial sources in the health organization. Policy act to tackle the health literacy disaster has been sluggish to materialize at all stages. This article aims to assist to change this condition. The series of proof presented sustains a wider idea of health literacy that believes both a personal level of health literacy as well as the complexities of the circumstances within which person act (DeWalt, 2005). Assessment of health literacy in clinical practice stays a source of dispute. It has been recommended that we ought to practice ‘universal safety measures’ and stick to clear communication approaches that every patients can employ effectively. Additionally, it is significant to distinguish that deprived literacy handiness are often linked with sturdy feelings of disg race and awkwardness for patients. Considering this fear, more recent support has been to assess patient’s knowledge and literacy abilities and, during organizational tactics, to provide essential psychosomatic plus emotional supports, remembering that dipping the claims of our ‘system’ is at the center of improving health related literacy (Baur, 2010). 2. Relation between primary healthcare and health literacy A primary health scheme that is suitable and universally available needs an active schedule based on investigation of approaches to tackle low health literacy, whereas health care givers should be attentive to the extensive troubles of health literacy which cover all age stages. Primary health care is a wide field that includes health endorsement, illness avoidance, care of the unwell, support and community progress (Keleher Hagger, 2007). The primary health division comprises a variety of services including common practice, society and women’s health checks, and government plus non-government services. It is closely associated with a variety of community-based public support and wellbeing sectors. 3. Health literacy related to elders The disputes of making logic of health information are particularly huge for the increasing fraction of natives aged 65 years and elder. Older grown-ups have more persistent illnesses and exercise more health care facilities than other sections of the people, and they face exclusive issues associated to physical plus cognitive performance that can compose it hard for them to locate and use suitable health information. The share of the elderly plus very old in the people of developed countries is increasing quickly. These persons have more sicknesses than younger group and use a uneven share of prescription and OTC (over-the-counter) drugs. These issues, mutual with age-related alters in pharmacokinetics plus pharmacodynamics, compose the elderly people in whom medicine use is particularly probable to be marred by grave adverse consequences and drug-drug interactions. They consequently should obtain medicines only when totally essential for well-defined signs and at the lowest efficie nt doses. Prospectively described end tips, suitable supervision of drug levels, and repeated appraisals of the patients medicine record, with discontinuation of those medicines that did not realize the wanted end point, would really get better the health of the old population (Wolf, Gazmararian, Baker, 2005). 4. Health literacy related to diabetes specifically in elders Older persons and their caregivers require dependable health information to stop and supervise disease, endorse their health plus follow public health advices and cautions. Yet, dissimilarities in access to proper teaching and literacy guidance, the difficulty and technological life of physical condition information, and the usual processes of age may compromise elder adults capability to employ health information and construct logic of messages. The trade of multifaceted fitness information between patients, contributors, health associations and the community is often explained as health literacy (Cavanaugh, 2011). In diabetes, health literacy is connected to diabetes information, self-efficiency and self-care performances and glycemic organize. Health literacy can also offer a better perception of ethnic disparities scrutinized in persons with diabetes. The various strategies to tackle health literacy, based on this perceptive of its responsibility give a means to advance diabetes care.It is necessary that patients suffering with diabetes have a kind of the symptoms of hyperglycemia and how to correctly self-administer medicines to manage diabetes. Poor health literacy has been always linked with bad diabetes information in a diversity of settings with hospitalized elder patients. Self-effectiveness of diabetes care has been considerably linked with self-care conducts and glycemic management. Using a diversity of tools, numerous earlier studies have inspected health literacy and diabetes control (Kim, Love, Quistberg, Shea, 2004). While health literacy has been linked with a lot of health performances, there has been modest proof till date from patients suffering with diabetes. Assessments of health literacy have not passed to reveal significant alliances with devotion to diet, blood glucose monitoring under customary care conditions. Given that medicine management is elementary to diabetes concern. Further research is required to make a decision the extent of impact that health literacy proficiency may have on this significant self-care performance. Recognizing that poor health literacy is general and linked with many aspects of diabetes care – counting significant outcomes and strategies to tackle health literacy have been expanded, checked and promoted. The base of these suggested strategies rests with the values of obvious health communication, including evaluation of understanding, emphasizing not many key tips and using efficient printed materials (Funnell et al., 2012). 5. Conclusion We can do a great deal better in design and present health information that persons can use efficiently. We can construct our individual health literacy abilities and assist others—society members, health experts, and anybody else who converses about physical condition—construct their skills also. Every association engaged in health in order and checks requires its own health literacy arrangement to get better its managerial practices. The sources will assist you learn about health literacy questions, extend skills, generate an action arrangement, and relate what to learn to make physical condition information and checks that truthfully make a optimistic dissimilarity in peoples lives. Understanding the association among health literacy behaviors should improve attempts to advance diabetes conclusions. Expanding educational agendas for patients with poor literacy may decrease difference in diabetes results connected to literacy position. 6. References Baur, C. (2010). The Andromeda Strain :: essays research papers

The Andromeda Strain is a fictional book that describes a five-day study of a deadly virus. This book takes place in 1966 in the town of Piedmont, Arizona. Even though the book takes place in 1966, the book seems extremely realistic. Through the five days, they do different tests do learn all about the Andromeda Strain. At times there will be brilliant discoveries, and at times the people will be stupid and ignorant. Overall, the book will keep you guessing of what the people will do. The main character in the book is Jeremy Stone. He is a scientist that goes on the ground to collect the Andromeda Strain, and also runs tests on it. He to has brilliant times, but also at times he doesn’t. He comes up with all different theories about the Andromeda Strain. Towards the end of the book, you learn something about what experiment he did, and he has to make a big decision on whether to use it or not. To find out what he does, all you have to do is read the book.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  I liked how Michael Crichton uses vocabulary in the book. He uses many medical terms and only describes a few of them. But, overall the vocabulary isn’t to bad, especially if someone you know, knows medical terms. I thought the book was really good. I had must of the time, had trouble putting the book down. It is a very good novel if you like diseases and medical theories. At times it isn’t going to be very exciting, but it will pick up.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  I would recommend this book to people who like or enjoy medicine and diseases because that is what it manly talks about. This book is for good readers that like tough vocabulary. Kids under the age of about thirteen shouldn’t read it because the reading is hard and heavy.

Herb Brooks: Charismatic Motivation in Coaching Essay -- essays resear

Herb Brooks: Charismatic Motivation in Coaching In the following essay, I will argue that Herbert â€Å"Herb† Brooks was a charismatic leader due to his powerful motivation and his high expectations. He expected great things from the players he coached, but mostly, he expected them to think of the team and not themselves. He motivated with a powerful punch, mostly through fear, but was able to unite his teams and eventually the country. Herb Brooks was born on August 5, 1937 in St. Paul Minnesota (Herb Brooks). Growing up in Minnesota, he became attached to the sport of ice hockey. He spent years practicing and playing this sport, and in 1955, he led his high school team to the state championship. After three years of college at the University of Minnesota, he joined the 1960 Olympic hockey team, but was cut from the team just before the Olympic games. He played for the United States in the next two Olympic games, and in 1970 he picked up his coaching career at the University of Minnesota. In his six year’s of coaching at the university, he led the team to three national championships (Herb Brooks). In 1980, his United States Olympic hockey team, consisting of all college students, achieved one of the greatest spectacles in sports history: â€Å"The miracle on ice.† His team beat the Soviets in a white-knuckle, heart pounding game with a score of four to three. The Soviet’s were a well trai ned, terrifying team that were considered to be the greatest hockey team that has ever taken the ice. After leading his team to this miraculous victory, he continued his coaching career up until his tragic death in 2003. His high expectations for his team and his fearful, powerful motivational techniques led him down a path of greatness that helped him become an inspiration to all. Brooks' 1980 Olympic hockey team consisted of college students whose average age was 22 years, and was full of rivalry because of players being from different universities. This young team was being matched against some opponents who had played and practiced together year-round, for several years. The Soviets had beaten a team of National Hockey League all-stars the year before, and they triumphed over this young U.S. team at an exhibition game in New York a week before the Olympiad (Herb Brooks). Herb did not ... ...out the best in every player that played for him. Although he seemed harsh at first, the team members bought into his methods of motivation, and became united as a team. Herb communicated to them his goals and aspirations, and the team was able to set its sights on the future. He had many dreams, and once said, according to the ESPN website, "You know, Willie Wonka said it best: We are the makers of dreams, the dreamers of dreams. We should be dreaming. We grew up as kids having dreams, but now we're too sophisticated as adults, as a nation. We stopped dreaming. We should always have dreams. I’m a dreamer.† His dreams bringing out the best in every player became reality, and it not only united his team, but it united the country. Herb Brooks was a great inspiration to his many team members throughout the years, and now he is remembered as a powerful motivator and an inspiration to the nation as a strong charismatic leader. Plato and Piety Essay

It seems that in the reading both Socrates and Euthyphro are both dealing with legal issues and they are discussing the differences and the similarities of their cases with one another. Socrates is a defendant in a suit accusing him of impiety which was brought against him by no other than Meletus who was not really in a position to bring suit against another but that’s another story all together. And then we look at Euthyphro who is a plaintiff in a murder action in which he brought against his own father. It seems that Socrates being of sound mind thought he should lend his ear to this young man who was very knowledgeable to help him come to the conclusion of what his crime truly was. He felt that he should be perfectly informed about the differences between piety and impiety before being tried for what he was not sure was a binding action against him. The first definition that Euthyphro gives is that piety is what is dear to the gods and impiety is what is not dear them. Socrates states that even if this was the fact could this really be a form of piety when discussing the case brought against Euthypro’s father he said looking at the evidence at hand could his father really be deemed a murder because he didn’t show piety. And then he asked the question what do you deem to be justice because what is justice for one could be ones punishment in another’s eyes. The second definition Piety is what is loved by the gods a redefined distinction between state and the act corresponding respectively to the adjective and the participle. Which Socrates states that piety and holiness is preceded by the act of being pious, not by the act of love. The third and final definition is that Piety is a form of justice. Socrates has during this time placed religion on a moral foundation. He is trying to find the balance between that of religion and morality which should be universal with all men in his eyes. I feel that Socrates was on to something we as humans depending on what we are raised to believe can find ourselves on either side of the argument. In the case of Travian Martin it seems that some toke piety on the death of the child and other deemed that it was not that much of a loss. I believe that if there is loss of life for any reason other than natural cases it is sad and should not of taken place. Do I think the man who shot this child is a murder yes, the police had told this gentlemen not to follow this young man and he toke the law in his own hands and shot an unarmed child. In the case of Euthyphro’s father I would not deem it a murder yes, it was a piety that the man died but it was not a crime. I truly believe that impiety is knowing how it would feel to be another man shoes and taking piety on him because it could very well be you in the same state. My definition of piety is looking at one and feeling sorrow for the persons state of being and then taking action. Next would be my definition of holiness to me it would be a person who lives above reproach in all things. In the world we leave in today there are those who take piety on the less fortune and those who turn their backs on them; in my book those who turn a blind eye are no better and should be made to feel the hardship that is very real in peoples everyday lives. Socrates was a great man who used logic and understanding to bring Euthyphro to a place of understanding through the knowledge that this young man already had but because he was blind by the things he was taught he was not truly being fair to his father in the case of murder that he brought against him. I feel that we do the same thing in life today we judge people by what we deem to be moral with seeing the bigger picture and weighing out all the things that could be a n influence in what is truly going on in the world around us. In my conclusion I think that before we come to the conclusion of what might be a sin we might want to take a look at all the things that make up the situation and listen to every side of the story because we deem as right could be wrong to another. Ethics, Abolition of Man Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1250 words

Ethics, Abolition of Man - Essay Example e related to the traditional morality when in fact when new values are established, the person himself influencing such values is a product of the tradition morality from which he had been nurtured. One then cannot deny the relationship to one’s traditional values. This can be attributed to the fact that when one establishes values, there is only one way of classification, that is being traditional or the established one. Thus, complete rejection of tradition values is required for the new ones to be accepted, which can be considered a great challenge specifically when values are also related to the actions of the social surroundings. One cannot separate himself from his community. For that matter, in the determination of values and ethics, the social interaction is one of the important factors (p. 27-30). The main point discussed in the second chapter is the real nature of values. It is a common notion that values and ethics can be related to the actions and obligations of a person for the good of the many. For that matter, doing a good deed for example can be perceived as an act that can benefit a larger portion of the population. In times wherein there is conflict between the good of the community and the good of a person, the person needs to sacrifice himself. This can be in general one of the utility of the person in the community, to save it or sacrifice for it. Basically, this is one of the notions for which morality can be achieved. This can be attributed to the fact that people commonly seek self preservation. The traditional values then can be viewed to have been established on the basis of the need of the people during the corresponding time and became values through practice and through the development of norms (p. 27-52). Lewis argues that utility though cannot be a source of ethical obligation since the said concepts are distinct. Utilitarianism is on self preservation and viewing the events and elements of the surroundings as a tool
